Conservatives on Thanksgiving

This is a really good write up.

Several people around the MRC loved the Thanksgiving message of Amanda Reinecker at the Heritage Foundation's myHeritage.org website:

America was founded upon sound conservative principles grounded firmly in human nature and not in radical idealism. And today, we see that these principles, though under attack from the Left, are still very much alive.

As Heritage Foundation scholar Matthew Spalding explained in 2003, Thanksgiving maintains the tradition of the American Founding and affirms that "while we are committed to upholding religious liberty, we remain one nation under God."

So, despite these tough times, conservatives and Americans have much to be thankful for:

Bowing to the King

Obowa?

Scott Fenstermaker/ AKA- Weasel

Attorney for the 9-11 terrorists Scott Fenstermaker said that the 9-11 terrorists will put the US foreign policy on trial. He refused to say that innocent civilians were murdered on September 11th by the Al-Qaeda killers. He also said he will be pleased if the terrorists are released and the rule of law is followed. Billy O'Reilly called him a weasel. I would have called a POS.

THE DRUG CARTEL ARMY /Congressman Poe

Another fine moment by Congressman Ted Poe.

Mr. Speaker, The Washington Times recently reported that Mexico's two most deadly drug cartels have more than 100,000 foot soldiers in their criminal cartel armies. That massive firepower does battle with each other and battle with our Border Patrol and our border sheriffs. They fight for control over the drug and human smuggling routes into America.

The killing is rampant in Mexico, with over 7,000 murders this year. Law and order are absent in parts of that nation.

The two biggest and most violent criminal cartels control territory along the border at Laredo, Texas. Now, they are considering combining their criminal enterprises. These two groups, the Zetas and the Federation, if they unite, their 100,000-man army will be almost as big as the entire Mexican Army.

The threat keeps building at our southern border. Mexico is our border neighbor, and we had better be as concerned about the stability of that government and the security of our mutual border as we are about the stability and the borders of Iraq and Afghanistan.

And that's just the way it is.

DESERT RAT

Another fine speech by Congressman Ted Poe

Mr. Speaker, yesterday the United Nations had an update on the government of the tiny tyrant in the desert of Iran. The U.N. nuclear watchdog agency, the International Atomic Energy Agency, or the IAEA, has released their new report on Iran's nuclear site. This facility, called Fordo, is being built inside a mountain near the religious city Qom. The IAEA concluded the facility had no relevance to any alleged civilian power program.

Western analysts say Fordo's small size will only allow enrichment of small amounts of uranium enough to make a nuclear bomb, but not enough to fuel a nuclear power station. Are we surprised with this finding.

The IAEA said in its report that Iran was not able to convince them that they weren't hiding other nuclear sites. Well, imagine that.

The Government of Iran sponsors acts of terrorism all over the world. Now this thuggish government seeks to threaten the world with nuclear holocaust. For 30 years, Iran has used terrorism, assassination squads, and hostages as their foreign policy.

And, Mr. Speaker, just look at the way this government treats its own people. The people of Iran live in fear of their own government and their own President. Iranian state television yesterday reported that five Iranian citizens were sentenced to death for peaceably protesting the fraudulent Presidential elections in June. That's right. They got the death penalty for exercising the human right to peaceably assemble. And in this Third World country, the death penalty rules the day.

Further, Mr. Speaker, the world witnessed earlier this year how the government even murdered its own people in the streets who peacefully protested the Presidential elections that were rigged by Ahmadinejad.

The cries of the murdered are from the blood of the Iranian freedom patriots who want freedom in their own country. More than 100 prominent opposition leaders in Iran are now being tried for peacefully protesting. Brave men and women of Iran who refuse to be trampled by the tiny tyrant, Ahmadinejad.

The United States should stand with the people of Iran that oppose this illegitimate reign of terror by their government and by their president. The government of Iran is the threat to world peace, especially peace in the Middle East. The sanctions that have been imposed by the U.N. and other Nations on Iran have failed to get the attention of the desert rat, Ahmadinejad. He continues to build his nuclear weapons. He continues to build intercontinental ballistic missiles so that he can fire those nuclear weapons. He continues to finance terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas. He continues to meddle in the lawful affairs of Iraq, including supporting assaults and assassinations against the Iranian people that are in Camp Ashraf.

He sends aid and comfort to al Qaeda and to the Taliban in Afghanistan that war against American troops and NATO troops. The key to world peace and peace in Iran is a regime change sponsored by the freedom-loving citizens of Iran. Those noble citizens who have now become the enemy of their own government deserve our support and our encouragement here in America.

Mr. Speaker, deep down in the soul of every person who ever has been or ever will be born is the spark for freedom. The sons of liberty and the daughters of democracy in Iran have in their hearts that spark for liberty, and they will not be quenched by the tiny tyrant of Iran.

It is imperative that the United States recognize the true threat to world peace, Ahmadinejad, and that we as a Nation and that we as a people stand shoulder to shoulder with the good folks of Iran, the citizens of Iran that want a change in their government.

And that's just the way it is.

Obama Continues to Lie

When will this little man figure out that we are not as dumb as he wants us to be?

The Boston Globe has followed the $4 billion in federal stimulus money sent to Massachusetts so far and found that the 12,374 jobs reportedly saved or created in the state to be "wildly exaggerated."

The money went to state agencies, universities, hospitals, businesses and nonprofit organizations. In some cases, organizations and businesses "miscounted jobs, filed erroneous figures, or claimed jobs for work that has not yet started." In other instances, no jobs at all were created.

Nationwide, more than ten percent of the jobs the Obama administration has claimed were "created or saved" by the $787 billion stimulus package are doubtful or imaginary, according to reports compiled from eleven major newspapers and the Associated Press.

Based only on our analysis of stimulus media coverage in the last two weeks, The Examiner has created this interactive map to document exaggerated stimulus claims. The map, which will be updated as new revelations appear, currently reflects an exaggeration by the Obama administration of about 75,000 jobs, out of the 640,000 jobs supposedly "created or saved."

The map reflects reports from The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, the Sacramento Bee, The New York Times, USA Today, the Las Vegas Sun, the Detroit Free Press, the New York Post, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Associated Press, the Chicago Tribune, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. It remains a work in progress because relatively few newspapers have scrutinized stimulus spending so far.

Obama has claimed that the $787 billion economic stimulus package "saved or created" some 650,000 jobs. But almost as soon as the White House trotted out this figure, news organizations found huge exaggerations in the reported data. Many of the jobs reportedly created do not exist or cannot be accounted for.

Obama Races to make Illegal Immigrants Legal

Obama races to make Illegal Immigrants Legal

In many ways, the anti-legalization passions that once swirled around the immigration fight have faded as dramatically as Lou Dobbs's television career. While there is always a constituency for demonizing illegal immigrants, it is impossible for anyone to blame the 2008 Wall Street meltdown and the current deep recession on Mexican farm workers and Chinese dishwashers. In fact, under the Bush administration last year, apprehensions of illegal immigrants dropped to the lowest level since 1975, suggesting an equally precipitous drop in attempted border crossings. As Edward Alden, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations who directed a task force on immigration policy, explained, "The biggest reason for the drop is the decline of the economy."

Obama Wasteing Time

It is obvious that Obama has no clue to how to run a war.He continues to waste valuable time as American Soldiers are killed. He is in a way the same as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan

CNSNews.com is reporting that Barack Obama won't accept any of the Afghanistan war options before him.

Obama's stance comes as his own ambassador in Afghanistan, Karl Eikenberry, is voicing strong dissent about a U.S. troop increase, according to a second administration official.

Eikenberry's misgivings center on a concern that bolstering the American presence in Afghanistan could make the country more reliant on the U.S., not less. He expressed them in forcefully worded cables to Washington just ahead of Obama's latest war meeting Wednesday.

Obama is still expected to send in more troops to bolster a deteriorating war effort.

He remains close to announcing his revamped war strategy -- troops are just one component -- and probably will do so shortly after he returns from a trip to Asia that ends Nov. 19.

Fort Hood

Madam Speaker, the bugle sounds Taps. The flags of Texas and the U.S. are at half staff this crisp morning.

In the hill country of central Texas, the largest military base, a place called Fort Hood, soldiers and families mourn. They mourn for 13 of their own who have been murdered. They weep for 30 others who fill hospitals because of bullet wounds.
A few words from Congressman Ted Poe
The soldiers were going about the business of making ready to deploy and defend this country overseas against tyranny and terrorism, only to face a terrorist here at home. A radicalized soldier named Nidal Hasan rejected his order to go abroad and took out his anger on those he knew.

We come upon Veterans Day next week where we honor our veterans, but let us here today in Congress on this solemn occasion give thought, prayer, and thanks to the men and women of the military who have volunteered to defend the rest of use against those forces of evil. We mourn with their families. These of our military are a rare breed, a unique breed, the American breed.

And that's just the way it is.

Medicare is a social insurance program administered by the United States government, providing health insurance coverage to people who are aged 65 and over, or who meet other special criteria.
They are a large percent of those in Medicare.

* Six million people enrolled in Medicare have incomes below the federal poverty level-$8,980 for an individual.
* Nearly one in three people in Medicare has an annual income below 150 percent of poverty-less than $13,470 for an individual in 2003, or $36.90 a day for all expenses.

Health Care Vote

I wonder how this is gonna work?
The dumb ass Democrats seem to be content with this.
This country is going to be so screwed. Maybe it is time for me to seek an alternate place to live. Somewhere that I won’t face being taxed on every little thing. I could sell my house, of course at a loss. Sell a majority of my weapon and other toys and move to……….
Or maybe I just stay here and continue to live pissed off because the majority of the elected officials in this country want to continue to do what they want despite what the voters want.

Sarah Palin responded to the democrat’s vote to nationalize health care last night. She pointed out Obama’s lie about abortion not being in the bill.
